Art Brut-Its A Bit Complicated

Well what can I say Art Brut have made a pretty impressive record, Eddie Argos and crew have gone for a more guitar influnced sound which works very well for his vocals. The tracks on A Bit Complicated arnt as pop as previous records, though it does still make you smile and wanna dance. Songs like direct hit are gonna work there way into your brain and stay there for some time like it or not you will find your self humming it. One thing is for sure Art Brut are going to win alot more fans with this album and from what I hear there live show has improved alot and is now something to be admired. Art Brut might end being one of those bands that should have been huge but never made it dont let this happen Art Brut deserve to be huge!

The Pigeon Detectives

Just brought tickets to see The Pigeon Detectives on the 20th November at the Oxford Carling Academy, missed them when they played the zodiac a few months back due to work :( From what I hear they are a great live band full of energy so it should be good. There album is pretty good sounds a bit like so many other bands in britain at the moment but not as boring as alot of them and it doesent come across as if there trying to be the new Oasis which so many try to do.

Songs like Romantic Type just have such a great attitude and they have a few sing a long tunes aswell Im Not Sorry and I Found Out which I can see being awesome live:D

Gogol Bordello-Super Taranta!

So Gogol Bordello's new album Super Taranta! has leaked and theres one thing i can say about the album which is fucking AWESOME!!!! For thoose of you who dont know who Gogol Bordello are then i gotta say you have been missing out on one exciting,fun and just plain great band, branded as Gypsy punk rock they create great songs that a made to drink/party/dance like a freak to. Anyways Super Taranta! is just a very focused and tight album that will sound immense live, some songs remind of the clash when they went in the pop direction but without sounding like there trying to be the clash or any other band gogol arnt ripping off anyone with there music. Super Taranta! is a must have to any music fan and i might actually buy this when it comes out which i dont do often!

Madina Lake

Woohoo just got tickets to see these guys at the refurbished oxford zodiac........sorry oxford carling academy on the 26th september (fucking £10 better be fucking amazing). I know aloth of bands in the Emo/scene genre can sound the same but Madina Lake have something a bit diffrent, which is i hear you say well 1.The lead singer hasnt got that whiney voice that so many sound like. 2. Theyv got talent. 3. The album From Them Through Us To You hasnt got any major flaws. So overall im looking foward to it very much :)

Youngplan

The First band I want to bring to your attention is a top band called Youngplan. I cathced them supporting Mumm-Ra at the oxford Zodiac a few months back and i must say they really are good. Where most people were talking about Ripchord the second support act i didnt really find them that great to be honest. However Youngplan i cant explain it theres just something about them i really like nice guys and all which always helps.
